Margarita started to play the violin when she was 5.
After graduating Special Music School for the Gifted named E. Darzins in Riga, she was awarded full scholarship for studies in Fiesole School of Music, Italy.
Then Ms. Krein continued her studies in New York at Mannes College of Music, having master classes at Juilliard School of Music with Lewis Kaplan.
From September 2009 Margarita studies with world-renown violinist Dmitri Berlinsky.
Ms. Krein is recipient of a Career Grant from the Rachel Elizabeth Barton Foundation, Latvian-American Talent's foundation "TILTS" and Latvian-German Cultural foundation.
Margarita took part in many important projects such as International Academy of Music in Italy, Summit Music Festival, NY, London Masterclasses, Conservatory Music in the Mountains, Colorado, Music Festivals in Israel, Sweden, Italy, France, Germany.
Just recently Margarita won First Prize in American Protege International Competition in New York and also became winner of Concert Festival auditions in New York, which allow her to perform at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall.
In 2003 she was winner of National Competition in Latvia and in 2007 of 11th International Young Violinists Competition in Russia.
Ms. Krein gave concerts through-out Europe, Russia and USA.
At the age of 17 she had her debut as a soloist with orchestra in United States.
She has also performed at The Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, Teatro Comunale in Florence, Italy, Latvian Opera House, Royal Academy of Music, London, Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, in 2008 a solo recital on Stradivarius violin in W.M.P. Concert Hall, New York.
